The road that led George to our office is long and winding.  Originally hailing from New Jersey, George moved to PA to attend Lebanon Valley College for physics.  While there, his love for playing guitar and singing prompted him to change majors and graduate with a Bachelors of Music.

After playing and touring for years, George eventually hung it up, settled down, and started a family.  After working for years for a dental insurance company, he chose to work from the other end of the spectrum, which led him to us!

Brittany is the “kid” of the group, and her youthful spirit and spunk keeps both staff and patients smiling.  Hailing from Jonestown, Brittany graduated Northern Lebanon High School with the Class of 2010.  She is a graduate of the dental assisting program at Keystone Technical institute.  Starting with Paxton Family Dental as an extern, she has parlayed that experience into a full time position, and we’re happy to have her on the team!

What you or I may see as “work” or a “job”, Barb sees as a “privilege”.  That’s the word that she chose to describe her 30 years in the industry, providing dental services to the local community.  Barb’s caring for the well-being of others is evident upon meeting her, and further exemplified by her commitment to service.  Having a license in both Dental Hygiene and Public Health allows her to provide services to the underserved.

She is an instructor at HACC, as well as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher at church.  If that wasn’t enough, she also serves on the advisory board for Lebanon/Lancaster IU13.  Schedule an appointment with Barb, and you’ll be able to experience her compassion first-hand, and get a great cleaning too!

While the history of Paxton Family Dental only goes back a few years, Dr. Deets and Sheila go back even further.  They were colleagues years ago in York, PA, where Sheila was an assistant and Dr. Deets worked as an associate.  When Dr. Deets opened his own practice and needed an excellent, experienced Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, he knew where to look!  In her 30 years of experience in the industry, she has performed all different aspects of dental assisting and even some front office duties!

Sheila feels sharing what she has learned is important, and as such has worked as an instructor in Lancaster, and is currently opening her own school for dental assisting.  If she’s not in an office or a classroom, you can probably find Sheila with her husband and 4 children.  If it’s summertime, she’s probably at the beach!
